The Oppelt Photographic Collection is housed at the Special Collections section of the Main Library at the University of the Western Cape. The collection spans decades of activity at the University.  Topics covered range from graduation events, political protests, structural fires, community outreach and pictures of past staff and students. The collection was digitised to provide online access to facilitate our goal of gathering as much information as possible around these events including names, dates and locations. We aim to highlight the history captured in these images and the stories of the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, and the nation. Your help in this project is vital to deepening our understanding of these valuable photographs.

The images have been categorised as "protests", "marches", "political events", and "alumni". Any information about these images would be greatly appreciated.
