Open Access and libraries

This guide is aimed at to brief students on what Open access is, its role in libraries.The guide will future go on to outline the benefits of open access to students and more specifically Libraries (Public) .

Open Access Challenges

Primary permission or usage rights where open content  is concerned

1: Reuse: The rights to reuse the content in its unaltered/verbatim form(e.g. make a backup copy of the  content)

2: Revise: The right to adapt, adjust, modify, or alter the content itself e.g. translate the content into  another language).

3: Remix: The right to combine the original or revised content with other content to create something new (e.g. incorporate the content into a mashup).

4: Redistribute: The right to share copies of the original content, your versions, or your remixes with others (e.g. give a copy of the content of a friend)
