Mobile Technologies and Libraries

by Unknown User on 2017-04-13T09:52:53+02:00 in Information Literacy | 0 Comments

Digital Technology has provided faster access to information and it is also challenging the libraries to rethink and remodel their services by adopting the technological changes. Today mobile phones are becoming an integral part of everyday life and are changing the way one connects and interacts with the world (Saxena & Yadav, 2013).

Library users can ask librarians anything through the live chat and texting with mobiles. The reference services can be provided with the help of sending and receiving SMS. Messaging improves users experience and engagement of your product. Immediate feedback is also possible from the user’s side. Services like Springer LibChats, Chatra, Ask a Librarian, Chatwing.com, Parse.com, etc. are widely used in most of the academic libraries.
