Biodiversity and Conservation Biology

This is a BCB guide for resources available at the UWC library and on the web.

The Council of Scientific Editors (CSE) style is the recommended referencing style for sciences. However it is best to use the style required by your lecturer. 

You can find the recommended formats for the different key referencing styles below.

It is also recommended to use Reference Management Tools to manage your references and quickly create a list of refences. The tab on the right includes the tools which UWC subscribes to and are available to you. 

      

 

EndNote is reference management software with features to—

  • Keep all your references and reference-related materials in a searchable personal library.
  • Synchronize your references between up to three of your personal computers, an online library, and your iPad or iPhone through EndNote Sync. (You must be the owner and user of all three computers.)
  • Set up a library sharing team and effortlessly collaborate with up to 100 co-authors and colleagues.
  • Cite your references in word processing documents to create formatted citations and bibliographies or independent reference lists.

 

EndNote is freely available for all UWC staff  and registered students. An easy to follow installation guide to assist students and staff to download and install EndNote is available on the Google Drive link below. 

NB: you must sign in with your @myuwc or @uwc email to gain access.

It can help you discover, access, manage and share references and research data, collaborate with others online, showcase your latest research, find funding, and identify career opportunities.
