Where can I store my research data?.

Kikapu - UWC Research Data Repository

UWC researchers are encouraged to make use of Kikapu, UWC’s online institutional research data repository. It serves as a publishing and access platform for research data and scholarly outputs, and it simplifies the process of making data FAIR. Moreover, it has been shown that sharing data increases citations and boosts research metrics. 

Kikapu is powered by Figshare for Institutions and is available to all students and staff at UWC. To login, UWC users simply use their UWC username and password.

How long can I store my research data?

Your research data can be stored for as long as you need. Funders and collaborators will have certain requirements, but if you are unsure of how long to store your research data, the UWC RDM policy provides guidance.

How can I share my research data?

Kikapu allows for sharing of your research data. You have a few options:

• Include collaborators in your projects.
• Share your dataset(s) with a private URL.
• Publish your dataset(s)

Data sharing has become a mandatory requirement by institutions, funders and publishers.
