School of Pharmacy

The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) is an independent, self-funded, statutory body mandated in terms of the Pharmacy Act, 1974 (Act 53 of 1974) to regulate the pharmacy profession in the country with powers to register pharmacy professionals and pharmacies, control of pharmaceutical education, and ensuring good pharmacy practice.

The PSSA aim to support and promote the profession of pharmacy in improving medication use and advancing patient care.

The Health Professions Council Of South Africa Is A Statutory Body, Established In Terms Section 2(1) Of The Health Professions Act

The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) was established to strengthen the health systems of the country through research, development and technology transfer. Its research projects include: tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular and non-communicable diseases, gender and health, and alcohol and other drug abuse.
