Digital Literacies

This programme aligns with the UWC Library’s Information Literacy objectives and the UWC Graduate Attributes. It comprises of a series of initiatives that seek to develop digital literacies and are targeted at UWC students and staff.

Building Websites, ePortfolios, etc.


Workshop Purpose:

Google Sites is a free website builder that is offered by Google. Anyone can access and create Google Sites from within their free or paid Google Workspace account.

You will learn how to create a website for academic, work or personal use (i.e. CV, ePortfolio, Club or Project site).


Workshop Outcomes:

By the end of this training workshop, you should be able to:

  • Get started with Google Sites
  • Navigate Google Sites home
  • Add collaborators
  • Explore / Select templates and themes
  • Manage site settings
  • Edit and customise pages

 

  • Add files, forms and digital media items
  • Preview a site during customisation
  • Publish / Unpublish your website

 


Register in advance: https://uwc-ac-za.libcal.com/. After registering, you will receive confirmation and reminder emails about the upcoming training you have signed up for.

In the case where dates are not suitable, presentations can be done by invitation to groups and individuals.
