Referencing: APA Style 7th Edition

This is a guide to using the Citing and Referencing: APA 7th Edition

Notes:

  • Follow these examples closely for all layout, punctuation, spacing, italicising and capitalising.
  • The title should be italicised and followed by Doctoral dissertation, or Master's thesis, in square brackets.
  • If the work is retrieved from a database, it should include the name of the database, and the accession number.
Format:

Online:

Author, A. A. (Year). Title of thesis: Subtitle [Type of thesis, name of institution awarding degree]. Name of archive or site. https://xxxxxx

Stored in a database:

Author, A. A. (Year). Title of thesis: Subtitle [Type of thesis, name of institution awarding degree]. Database Name.

In print:

Author, A. A. (Year). Title: Subtitle [Type of thesis]. Name of institution awarding the degree.
