This is a self-learning tutorial that addresses each stage of the research process, including identifying information needs, selecting sources, finding high-quality, scholarly information, evaluating information, and using information responsibly.

Certificate of Completion Requirements

Students who successfully complete all of the requirements below are eligible to receive a printed certificate of completion for this #SearchSmart! Information Literacy Tutorial. The certificate will be issued by The University of the Western Cape: Library Services and will be signed by the Director of Library Services and your Faculty Librarian / Digital Literacies Librarian.

What do you need to do in order to earn certification?  You must:

  1. Register below your full names and UWC registered email address;
  2. Take each unit’s quiz challenge (no minimal grade – but you need to take the quiz); and 
  3. Take the final summative quiz (below), and receive an outcome of at least 75% (correct answers).

Please note: Partial completion of these requirements does not make you eligible for any form of partial certification.
